It's amazing how toxic & blemish producing your typical over-the-counter foundation powder/creams (( really, just make up in general )) produce and fester within our skin cells. There is even a weight build up after years of packing on thick rounds of the same foundation you've had for a year, perhaps maybe two.
Like all good things, renewal is healthy, and your foundation must be renewed at least after a few months or so to maintain freshness, prevent bacteria & mold, while also allowing your skin to breathe with new freshly crafted ingredients.
I think it's crucial for folks to learn how to craft their own foundation powders, especially if you know you already have easy access to these ingredients. If you do not want to make your own at home,
you also have the option to purchase a 1oz. or 2oz.

TIPS: I would suggest blending the arrowroot + zinc oxide (OPTIONAL) together first, THEN adding your shades such as cacao powder, turmeric root powder, cinnamon bark powder, ginger root powder, green clay, etc..
STEPS:
~HOW TO MAKE FOUNDATION POWDER~
(OPTIONAL) 2 Tablespoons: Zinc Oxide (un-coated + non nano) (This is optional, but offers more coverage + natural SPF.
1 tablespoon: Arrowroot Powder (Or Cornstarch- I personally prefer arrowroot on my face)
1/2 or 1 tablespoon: Cacao Powder (Or Cocoa, but Cacao is more raw + an antioxidant)
Up to 1 tablespoon: Cinnamon (For Golden tones, tan, + sun kissed tones), Ginger Root Powder (For ivory, tan, & olive tones), Turmeric Powder ( yellowish + olive tones) French Green Clay or Bentonite Clay (Reddish Pigments on skin + aids in blemish detoxification) (Or rhossoul clay, or fuller's earth clay, etc, or none) (These are optional)

Now just add everything to a big bowl + mix & mix. I suggest adding the Zinc Oxide & the Arrowroot powder together first, then add the Cacao powder, and then add the Cinnamon/ginger/nutmeg/turmeric/clay(s)/etc, then add it to a jar, cap it, & add a label.
The best way to apply this is in circular motions using your favorite swirl brush/loose foundation brush.
((You have the option of adding 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of mica powder for that silky, glowing finish. Use either transparent or gold mica flakes))
And of course, thank you for reading!
